Overview

Solo Leveling Season 2: Arise from the Shadow Episode 1, titled “You Aren’t E-Rank, Are You?”, begins the second season with Sung Jinwoo facing a dangerous new challenge. Episode Summary

The episode begins with Sung Jinwoo accompanying his younger sister Sung Jinah’s friend, Han Song-Yi, to a dungeon raid. Jinwoo hopes that experiencing the dangers of a real dungeon will convince Song-Yi to abandon her plans of becoming a Hunter. The group enters what appears to be a normal C-Rank Gate under the leadership of A-Rank Hunter Kim Chul.

However, shortly after entering, the Gate transforms into a Red Gate, trapping everyone inside a frozen dungeon with no immediate way to escape. The Hunters soon realize they must defeat the dungeon boss or wait for a dungeon break to return home.

Kim Chul divides the group based on rank, taking the stronger Hunters with him while leaving Jinwoo and several weaker members behind. Despite his official E-Rank status, Jinwoo remains calm and uses his enhanced senses to recognize the dangers around them.

When Ice Bears attack, Jinwoo reveals a portion of his hidden strength to protect the group. His overwhelming combat ability shocks the other Hunters, particularly B-Rank mage Park Heejin, who quickly realizes that Jinwoo is far more powerful than his official rank suggests.

As the frozen dungeon becomes increasingly dangerous, Jinwoo prepares to rely on his Shadow Army while keeping as much of his true power hidden as possible.
