Episode Summary
The episode begins with Ken Kaneki struggling to understand his new existence as a human-ghoul hybrid. Ordinary food now tastes disgusting, and his increasing hunger becomes almost impossible to control. Desperate for answers, Kaneki encounters Touka Kirishima, who understands his condition but has little patience for his refusal to accept reality. She explains the harsh truth about ghoul survival and makes it clear that his old life has permanently changed.
Kaneki later meets his best friend, Hideyoshi Nagachika, and tries to behave normally while hiding his transformation. However, their situation becomes dangerous when Nishiki Nishio, a territorial ghoul, attacks them. Nishiki targets Hide and brutally overpowers Kaneki, leaving him desperate to protect his closest friend.
